Skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) offer specialized care for patients who need intensive medical attention. These facilities serve as temporary residences for individuals undergoing rehabilitation and medical treatment following hospitalization due to illness, injury, or surgery. SNFs are equipped with skilled staff and advanced resources to manage, monitor, and treat various medical conditions, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutritional support, and intravenous medications. The primary goal is to help patients regain their physical abilities and independence so they can return to their everyday activities. In addition, many SNFs provide long-term care for patients who qualify.
